CRYPARTY.

don't worry.
not a big deal. i'm fine.

the day has been filled with activities, as usual.
overslept so didn't make it to the breakfast so made myself some sandwiches.
then Simona came to meet me up before we left to town for the registration with the language department and also to sort some other things out.

met some coolio people at the faculty, also bounced into Alex (from sweden) who i had lunch with (british people don't seem to eat lunch) so we went for, actually the plan was KFC but since we couldnt find it with our very non existant (read: mine) sense of direction we ended up at Alan's fried chicken instead.

then we hurried back to the uni to find out some info bout how to complete our financial registration without havin set up a british bank account. of course, we couldn't so we headed towards the bank, and in the end i finally decided to sign up with dam dam dam dam...HSBC. surprise huh.

after getting that done i rewarded myself by meeting up with Zizi, her friend, Scarlett and Bowie to go for a shopping spree at primark, arndale, tk max etc etc. basically we were all after our dress for the fresher's ball on saturday. w/out success. fick dock med mig en morgonrock, ett par ubergulliga tofflor och lite duschprodukter. precis så mycket som jag orkade bära. faaaan vad man önskar att man hade bil här. (och nån som kunde köra...)

anyways, the reason of the cryparty.
me and Simona just finished watchin the korean movie called "a moment to remember"
though i expected it to be just like that (hellow, its a korean movie) but still i managed to wet down a lotta napkins.
can u blame me?
i'm that type that cries to extreme home makeover so yea. this was expected and yes, simona got warned.

time to head to bed now. welcome talk at the business department tomorrow at nine and then it's time for the language test. wish me good luck folks!

one more thing, did i ever mention i sometimes wonder who designed my room. or more, who was responsible for the colours...
my carpet is green, my door is red, my chair is green, another one is blue, my curtains are "i have no idea what that's called" so basically, when i shop for my stuff (aka towels, beddings etc) i have no idea whatsoever which colour to go for.
in other words, my room is very, very did i mention VERY colourful? have a sneak peak. (rest coming later)

me and my not yet filled closet.

headin out, but first, pose with my lovely curtains.

me and simona "cooking" in the middle of the night in my shared kitchen.

WEIRD.

everything just feels so weird right now.
dunno why.
doesn't feel too good bout it.
can't sleep.
i am starting to feel the distance now.
seems like i am the only one feeling it.
the only one getting emotionally hurt from it.
the only one who actually wants to do anything about it.
great.

though uni life is getting better.

MOVIENIGHT.

so there was this Jazz event/party going on this evening but since i have waaaaay too many things to do, a lot of them paperwork i decided to stay in.
so while i was getting on with my stuff (read: showing my family my room thru the webcam) i got a text message from Simona who was on the mood of going out.
we ended up having a movienight at my place. Ann, a chinese girl i just got to know came along and here we were, sitting on my floor, watching korean dramas. uni life huh!

got to talk to bibi who finally after 328947347 years called.

o yea, heard bout some surprise party tonight at midnight (a party where they wake everyone up) but i really dunno if i can be bothered. sooooo megatired and totally confused of what else i should do for my registration stuff.

anywho... bout to get some rest now. (prolly not hear them knockin anyways)

FRESHERS'S WEEK.

back home from another long day in town/school.
had a meeting with the language department this afternoon after fixing some stuff with Simona.
met my classmates and there was ONE swedish girl! seriously, she's the one and only swedish person i've met since i arrived.
got my fresher's pack including my freshers ball ticket with Zizi who's in the same class as me.
the weather sucks and i almost signed up for an account at HSBC but had to run cause of my meeting.
registration tomorrow and on wednesday: LANGUAGE TEST! mwaha. i'll rock it. (or not...)

headin out to buy some stuf with the girls so laters.

SECOND DAY AT UNI.

080920 Saturday

Second day at the university.

Still chaotic.

The very smart me forgot to turn back the time in my cellphone so I woke up one freaking hour too early. Why does that happen to me?!

Cause my name is Victoria Lin. What else.

Anywho, I met Belinda (a Chinese girl who lives in the same hall as me) downstairs before we jumped on the magic bus to get into town to attend the survival guide.

Loads of information was provided. Good or bad? I don't know cause I just realized by then that I have even more things to fix.

At the session I got to know another girl from Lithuania, Simona who I've basically been hanging out with for the whole day.

Exploring the city, shopping some stuff at Primark (aka primani which is the opposite of Armani) another pillow, towels and hangers.

I guess I'd have to live with the fact that I only have two pillows (compared to my 7 pillows at home)

However,

We had dinner in Chinatown at a Thai restaurant called "try thai"

I had some noodle in red curry soup. A lil bit too sweet for my personal taste though. Since we were already in Chinatown we thought we'd stop by the Chinese supermarket to get some pao mian (instant noodles) and some more junkfood.

Tomorrow's another hectic day with tons of activities scheduled:

City tour.

Campus tour.

Head the library.

Get my schedule for this term.

Registration procedure.

collect my swipe card/university card.

Decide which bank I'll use. HSBC or NATWEST?!

Prepare my financial registration.

Find out about the student loan from the british government.

Get a new SIM card.

Explore my department. (language)

Shop some more food.

With that made clear, I guess I'll have to fight against the time again.

So...wish me good luck!

FIRST DAY AT UNI.

080919

Lying in my room after a chaotic day. Literally.

Never mind the fact that I almost missed my flight cause im used to that. Never mind the fact that my luggage was delayed and didn't get to my residence of hall until 8pm. But I surely do mind the fact that my internet doesn't work!

So mom, dad and bibi came to the airport with me this morning.

I must say being late and not able to say goodbye properly sure was a good thing cause in that way I didn't get the chance to start crying. Everything went so quickly. Having 10kg too much of luggage, going to the wrong terminal, running through the whole airport... all those factors contributed to the fact that my name got announced in the speakers. The plane was soon off and I was still running my ass off through the airport, carrying tons of stuff.

But I made it. Last second. Though I did get "yelled" at by the girl by the desk. Sorry!

After finding my seat I noticed I was being placed next to this asian guy who in the end happened to have common friends with me. Isn't the world just too small.

Anyways, after arriving in Manchester I was told that my luggage has been delayed. Superb.

I mean it. Cause then I was told they would deliver it directly to my hall. Meaning, 30 kg less for me to carry all the way to the campus. It would be delivered by afternoon. MY ASS.

I didn't receive it until like I earlier mentioned, at eight.

In the meantime I managed to buy a bus card, Ethernet cable, bedding pack, and loads of junkfood so I'll survive the night.

HSBC was filled with people so getting a bank account will be the first thing I do tomorrow morning after attending the survival guide at the university place.

Dinner in the dining hall was ok. No scratch that. It was horrible.

I guess I'll hafta head to the kitchen the next few days.

I'd also hafta tell you all about my walking through the whole university.

So, my internet is not working. I'm desperate and cannot register online to get my password/username cause there's something wrong with the freaking system.

So I go to the IT service at my campus to ask for help. I'm being sent to the service centre at the main university so there I'm off before being sent to the IT service in the Library who couldn't help me either so there I'm off to my business department to hopefully get some help. No.

I'm being sent further to the centre of language and linguistics. Guess what? YES! They cannot help me and I'm being given a bunch of numbers and meetings I'll be calling and attending tomorrow in hope to get my internet fixed.

Fair enough. No? of course not.

I don't have anywhere to plug in my Ethernet cable cause the whole in the wall is literally a whole in the wall - broken. GARGH!

I'm missing bibi terribly much. But I promised him I'd take good care of myself so I'll keep my word. Eating properly, doing what I have to do and NOT CRYING. Bibi be proud.

I love you. (I know you're reading...)

so, the wheel fell off when i was dragging my luggage á la 30kg to my room. so typical that it would happen to me.

on my way to town.

INTERNET!

yay! more update later.
with details and all that jazz.
need to fix the rest of my stuff now.
bibi i miss you.

Christmas party at GK.

xmas party at GK was pretty awesome.
ppl actually came.

sooo tired. came home at 4, woke up an hour ago.
and we're off in an hour... huge asian xmasdinner. gawsh, i hate the fact that my stomach gets full quickly but my eyes never get full. imma gain like 389274823 kg this xmas.

College life awaits me.

längtar som attans till universitetslivet. förhoppningsvis blir den stunden av livet placerad i UK.

För ungefär två månader sen så satt jag, S och A and struggled w/ our applications, deadline: 15 oktober.

sigh.. time for lunch. wish me all the best. I truly could need that.
